My portraits stem from a genuine love of people. I admire the depth and complexity that resides in every one of us. My passion is to encourage my subjects to reveal an inner piece of themselves, one they may not normally feel comfortable enough to show. I love watching people transform into extraordinary art right in front of my eyes. I search for meaningful beauty in unconventional circumstances. Who we are on any given day depends on what is demanded of us, or what we demand of ourselves. A boss, friend or stranger will all view us differently. Reality is perception. With each new moment we either reinvent ourselves, or stay where we’re comfortable. Nothing is merely as it appears to be at first glance. I hope my work reveals this and exemplifies that art exists in everyone.
