Seaside serenade, Atlantic City, NJ, 2013
It may not be obvious at first glance, but “Seaside serenade” is a composite comprised of three photos. The candid portrait of the cellist was shot in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia. The photos of the forlorn gentleman wandering away and the backdrop
building/ocean scene were shot in Atlantic City, NJ. The character of my composites ranges from apparent reality (here) to total surreality. In most cases, the final image is anchored by a compelling shot (in this case, the street musician) that can stand well alone. “Seaside’s” mood invites interpretation. Revealing mine would spoil it.
