Shelley Harvey - Single Image Winner - PORTRAITURE

This image was shot on one of my Imagination and Creation Photography Workshops. I had the day before walked past this beautiful, lush, organic Savoy cabbage at the supermarket. Something in my mind’s eye drew me to the cabbage, knowing it would “somehow” work well as a prop. The “somehow” didn’t happen until I had my model, Georgia, positioned behind the steamed-up window. I added the cabbage, and the image fell into place. I was thus able to fulfill my intention of creating a sorrowful and thought-provoking portrait that makes the viewer question, “Why the cabbage?”
