Swee Hoe Lim Single Image Winner travel/places

The 1992 movie City of Joy was my first encounter with Kolkata (formerly known as Calcutta). Apart from the film’s storyline, I was amazed by the rich culture of this colorful city. The third-most populous metropolitan area in India with 14.3 million people, Kolkata is a busy and sleepless city. Its huge, bustling crowds and dynamic street activities make it a visual heaven on earth for street photographers. This photograph was taken on an early summer morning near the famous flower market next to the holy Ganges River. The trishaw shown in the image is commonly used for transporting goods.
